Factory reset the Amazon Echo Dot 5th generation to deregister it and restore factory defaults.

Steps

1. 1

   Locate the Action button (dot icon) on the top of the Echo Dot.

2. 2

   Press and hold the Action button for about 25 seconds.

3. 3

   The light ring will turn orange then blue, and then the device will restart.

4. 4

   When the light ring turns orange again, the factory reset is complete.

5. 5

   Open the Alexa app on your phone to set up the device again.
