Warning: A factory reset permanently erases all data, settings, and installed apps. Back up anything important before you begin.
Factory reset the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (5th generation).
Steps

Tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the Home screen.

Tap Settings.

Tap the menu icon again and select Reset Device.

Tap Yes to confirm. The Kindle will restart and erase all data.

After reset, sign in with your Amazon account to restore your library.
